Who's covered
PIFSS contributions apply exclusively to Kuwaiti national employees in both the public and private sectors — non-Kuwaiti employees are not enrolled in PIFSS and don't have contributions deducted for this scheme.
What gets contributed
Both employee and employer contribute a percentage of the employee's PIFSS-subject salary (subject to a periodically updated salary cap) toward retirement, disability and related benefits — the exact split is set by PIFSS regulations and reviewed periodically.
