Oman End of Service Gratuity for Expat Employees

Gratuity in Oman applies specifically to non-Omani (expat) employees — Omani nationals are covered through the PASI pension system instead. Here's how the expat gratuity formula works.

The formula

Non-Omani employees earn 15 days' basic wage for each of their first 3 years of service, and a full month's wage for each year after that, under Oman's Labour Law.

Why Omanis don't get this benefit the same way

Omani nationals build retirement benefits through mandatory PASI pension contributions instead of end-of-service gratuity — a structurally different system designed around long-term social insurance rather than a lump-sum payout at the end of a specific job.
