Bahrainis: full coverage

Bahraini national employees are covered for pension, unemployment insurance and other benefits, with both employee and employer contributing a percentage of salary.

Expats: unemployment insurance only

Unlike most GCC countries, Bahrain requires expat employees to also contribute to unemployment insurance (at a lower rate than nationals), even though they're not enrolled in the pension scheme — a distinctive feature of Bahrain's system.
